I kindoff don't believe it....... I think we might have heard something from Jason (dragonmount) that Jordan is also writing book 11 and that that is also going great. Plus the last few books took long to write and I would find it weird if suddenly he could write book 11 and new spring in a couple of months. And i would find it fantastic ofcourse ;D
Just wafo , to see if we hear more.
That's my opinion:)
But thanks for sharing Hammer.
bye isabel

I have heard that book 11 is going to be published in late 2004.... If this is true Jardan has to have a lot of book 11 done... We will just have to wait and see.

Just Heard the Latest from Dragonmount...Jordan will finish Knife of Dreams in May or June... It will be published in Oct. 2005 just a little over a year from now...
There will only be two more books in the main series...
Jordan is working on Knife of Dreams and the Last Book at the same time...

Yeah, I read that, too. Too bad, in a way. I mean, October 2005 isn't exactly soon... But on the other hand, perhaps - if Jordan has all that time - we will get a good book with lots of exciting things in it... Concerning the "only two more books in the series": I cannot believe it! If RJ says two more books, I kinda have to, but when I look at the story and the way he has been slowing down over the last three, four books in telling it... It's really hard to believe he can finish in only two more books. Perhaps if he means to make Tarmon Gai'don a one-day-only-battle... Anyway, I'd like to discuss this topic some more, but right now I have the spaghetti waiting for me... ;D (I love Italian food! )

It depends where we are at the end of KoD if RJ can finish in one more book...I am wondering if the last book could be like Martin and A Feast for Crows that will take almost 6 years to finish....
By the way Martin was in Chicago this week and he said he was on the last 100 pages and only one chapter has to be written from scratch...all his chapters are about 20 pages long so he has said that he will be done with the whole book in just a few weeks...he has already submitted most of the book to the publisher...it will come out almost at the same time as KoD
So October will be a great month...

Dragonmount published the coverart for the eleventh book in the Wheel of Time series: Knife of Dreams. www.dragonmount.com/News/index.php?subaction=showcomments&id=1117752609&archive=&start_from=&ucat=76& What do you think? Personally, I think it's one of the ugliest covers in the series, yet.

Warning: spoilers ahead!Well, I'm not exactly finished yet. Actually, I'm only half way through, but I just had to post a comment after I read chapter 20! Wow... I have to say, when I opened the book and scanned the Contents (not wanting to ruin my reading by knowing what was ahead, but not actually to able to refrain from reading the Contents, either), I actually cheered when I saw the title for chapter 20. First things first, however, and that would mean the first 19 chapters... The Perrin/Faile line was a little slow. Though I liked Perrin in the first few books, I'm a little irritated by the way he is now ("Nothing's important but Faile." - Alright, I get it!). Faile is still Faile (which is a good thing), but the Shaido-plotline never interested me that much, so I hope she'll escape soon so she can put Perrin out of his missery and stops us from having to read about Sevanna's exposed bossom at the same time. I really liked the Mat/Tuon line. I've liked Tuon from the moment she entered the series and I like her even more now Mat is falling for her. Hahaha, serves him right, for a change! Way to go, Tuon! One point on that plotline, though. I actually hated to read what was in Moiraine's letter! Can you believe that? I don't know why... I suppose it was just, it still was kind of a secret, a promise for later. We all knew it was going to happen (i.e. she was coming back), but at the same time, we weren't exactly sure, so it still seemed a secret we all shared. And now, it's all in the open... Perhaps it's just that that letter is proof the series is coming to the end, and I really hate to think about that. Elayne wears wet things. How interesting (mind the sarcasm, there!). Rand: I was afraid it would be one of those boring chapter, in which Rand plans a move on [insert one of his many enemies] and then they were there: thousands of Trollocs. O my! Shock...! And then, the moment we've all been waiting for...! (Well, I was, at least.) A Nynaeve point of view... My first reaction while I was reading: Wooohooo, Nynaeve! Aaaah... And Lan... They're soooo cute! (I particullaly loved the line: 'Even if she wanted to kick her beloved husband's shins.' ) Eeeeew, burning Trollocs! Not cute! Get back to the cuteness! Eeeeh... Nynaeve, what are you doing? Nynaeve! What in the name of the Light are you doing? Noooooo! Don't! And then she did... But seriously... I liked the chapter, after a fashion. I had to read it twice, before I did (once, the first time, at 1 a.m. because I couldn't put the book down, until I'd read chapter 20, and then - of course! - I couldn't sleep because I felt so sad and happy at the same time; and then again the next morning (which happens to be today), after which I felt a little better). But I did like it. I mean, I really hated the fact that she send Lan away, at first and a part of me still does. But it is also kind of cool that he's going to march against the Shadow. And what made this part of the story okay, for me, was that last part... Nynaeve not-actually-telling-a-lie but all the same, getting an oath from her husband that he'll never break, dropping him in Saldaea and then leaving right away, to send as many Malkieri to him as possible. All the while trying not to cry, I'm sure. She's a though one, our little Aes Sedai. Even if she broke my heart, in the process. And loyal to the point of madness. I hope Rand sees it, or I'll kick his shins! But really, who could not love her, after this? End of spoilersGot to go... I have still half a book to read (and no time to do so today ). See you later, guys!

SPOILERShehe, I have already read the book four weeks ago. Anyway, i loved the book, only although i knew it couldn't happen i still was worried for Nynaeve. Because Rj at dragon con told me that Lan was not going to die, but Nynaeve would. Well i thought it had to be a joke, but i was stil worried. Although if she has to die i don't mind if she goes with a big bang, but i don't want it to happen. Do i make any sense:p Anyway, I truly loved this book. Every chapter i went wow, oh that happened. And with Moiraines letter, i actually thought, oh that crazy theory is true. I never believed that theory that she wrote actual instructions in it. Anyway, the Nynaeve chapter was cool too. Finally a pov of nynaeve again. And again the old 'kicking' Nynaeve:)))))))))))) Only I went from oooh, to nooo don't send him away and don't manipulate, although i did understand it why she did it. At the same time i am worried that this sacrifise is not necessary. Tarmon gaidon can start any minute. And how long does it take to ride to Fal Moran and tarwin's gap from the worlds end??? At least a month, I guess. I mean how many big gaps like tarwin's gap are there. Can Lan and his army be attacked in the back etc... I am really worried about that. Ofcourse Nynaeve can travel to lan and move his army, but still... And I am also worried about Nynaeve. She and Min want to stop Alivia from helping Rand die. But Alivia is way way stronger. Ofcourse I was also really pissed in this book. Saying about Nynaeve that Cadsuane intimidated her and than saying that Egwene would be a challenge for Cadsuane!!!! grrrrrr Nynaeve is much better than Egwene.. bye, isabel

SPOILERSAnd with Moiraines letter, i actually thought, oh that crazy theory is true. I never believed that theory that she wrote actual instructions in it. Yeah, I know what you mean about 'crazy theory'. I had hoped they would have to find out for themselves how to rescue her. (They still have to, kind of, but I didn't like that she told them: Thom and Mat, you have to come, and someone else, too and don't do this or that...) It would have seemed more 'real' if she hadn't, if you know what I mean. And I really hated that sappy 'dearest Thom' twice over! Bleeeegh! Moiraine wouldn't say that. Well, okay, she obviously did, but all the same. She's so cool! Does she have to get so not cool? End of spoilers

rofl;) No i wasn't disappointed with the letter. It's actually quite logic if you think back. She went to the rings at Rhuidean, so she would know all her futures..... Hehe, but a year back i would have shot that theory down;)
I think dearest thom also says something about things Min saw and Moiraine saw in the rings;)

Spoilers
Well, it's not like I didn't see that one (i.e. 'dearest Thom') coming, it's just that - as far as I know - things never got so far between them, and Moiraine being Moiraine (and a Carhienin, besides) I wouldn't have believed her to be so bold. But then again, we are talking about Moiraine here, and she is Aes Sedai to her toenails. One can never really predict what she'll do.
On another note, did you notice that the future would have been very different, if Moiraine (and Rand, and Mat, for that matter) hadn't known what her/their futures would be? The Aelfinn/Eelfinn? told Mat and Moiraine to go to Rhuidean (well, I expect they told Moiraine she had to go there, we only know about Mat being told). If they hadn't been told, they would never have gone, I think. And if they never had entered Rhuidean, Moiraine wouldn't have known about Lanfear (and couldn't have written her letter to Thom, explaining how to rescue her); Mat wouldn't have had his foxhead medaillon... And I'm not even getting started on the Daughter of the Nine Moons! My point: the future was changed when they learned about the future. But perhaps we should say: the future was changed when Moiraine and Mat (and Rand) decided to enter the doorway in Tear and decided which questions to ask the Aelfinn/Eelfinn?. I'm not really certain what it is I wanted to point out in this; just something I noticed.
End of spoilers

Spoilers
So i got KoD the day it came out and wasn't seen for the next four days ;D
what really struck me was how my views of characters changed throughout this book, heres just a few examples,
Egwene - my respect for her shot up like a bullet after reading her white tower chapters. the way she handled the novices and holding herself in the tower. I couldn't have thought of a better way to do it. especially gaining tiana's respect wonderfully manuevered Egwene! i can see how Siuan thought that Egwene and her were alike.
Tuon - i actually do not find this character likeable. for one, the way she collared Aes Sedai. i STRONGLY DISLIKE the seanchan, especailly their stupid slavery and caste system. my doubly increases when i hear that our main characters made alliances with them. AAH! i can see why, but *groan*! i hate them!. Tuon annoyed me by her seanchaniness. The whole "toy" thing, especially how she treats those "below her" It is nice to see mat settling down with one person though.
Cadsuane - Used to respect and like this character. now it just seems like she's intimidating everyone just to intimidate them. i like how she handled rand in earlier books, (lord knows he needed the handling) but now it seems like she's unnecessary rude to mostly everyone. I did like her line to semirhage...
Semi: I am Semirhage Cad: I am Cadsuane
made me laugh hearing the two being compared against one another.
Rand - not so much a woolhead this book. him and min's constant flirtation is kind of annnoying (not near as cute as nynaeve and lan's) but in this book i started to feel for him. i mean, the poor guy's half blind, lost an arm, got a bizzar-o gash down his side. herons branded into his palms, RJ needs to give him a break! i still do think that he is a bit rash with some of his desicisions, but not i think he respects nynaeve quite a bit more (always a good move in my book) and doesn't hold himself so high and mighty above evreyone else.
Nynaeve - My opinion didn't really change of her, but just confirmed my original thoughts. Nynaeve is a healer. a genuine altruist. she's first to help Rand, and is frustrated when she sees him suffereing and being so hard on himself. I think the meeting will be even more interesting between her and moiraine now. B/c once moiriane meets rand, rand will be touched and hopefully not quite as hard. which should give Moiraine a higher place in nynaeve's mind. Overall, nynaeve is just awesome. Chapter 20 made me cry, i hate seeing the two of them seperated and it was so cool when nynaeve said her name with lan's attatched and raised the golden crane. maybe now we'll get to see Edeyn. More then anything i hope this isn't the last time nynaeve and lan see each other.
another thought...THANK YOU ROMANDA! for finding halima. it cheered when she figured it out. a good end to a dangerous problem.
Another thought part II - although i didn't really like egwene's plot line, i liked hearing about birgitte (who also went up in my book) and it was cool to learn who killed adeleas. what i'm wondering is why careane killed ispan and why she used a stake and stuff. thats just gross.
anyways, thats the end of my thoughts for now.
