Will Rand make the same mistake as Lews Therin? What do you think?

Sedk, your poll can be interpretated in a lot of ways. What I *think* you mean, is: Will Rand kill his kin, as Lews did? Will Rand break the world? Please correct me if I'm wrong. If this is what you mean, I'd say: no, of course not. Lews was the Dragon, Rand is the Dragon Reborn. That does not mean they will do the same things. Rand will not become mad, I think. That's not RJ-like. He doesn't even dare to kill off one of his major characters, so he will certainly not make Rand a Kinslayer. My answer: no.

What I meen is will Rand think he can overgo the dark one and maybe the creator himself. That was the mistake Lews Therin did, and he had to pay a high price for it.

Ah, in that case I will say: perhaps. Rand will never dare to challenge the Creator, though I think he *will* face the Dark One. And of course he will believe he can defeat Him.

But will he do as LT and trie to take his place? I think so, and so the wheel turns again and another age come and the story goes on

I think he'll make some terrible mistake, but not the same one as Lews

i agree with sedk in that rand is going to challenge the creator. one example of his arrogance " all hail Rand al"Thor, king of the world.' King of the world, he rather liked that sound of that" or something close to that. lets not forget he tries to heal that dead girl in the stone, and attempts (and succeeds) cleansing the taint. it seems like a foreshadowing to me that he will try to match the creator

Rand is such a dork like that: I couldn't stand him until I figured out that he's just a doofus. I can totally see him trying to stand up to the Creator. Watch out, Rand.

Rand'll probably not try to best the Creator; but he will most likely seal the hole in the DOs prison again, but he won't do what LTT did. That's simply too GRRM-ish..
Remember; the Bore wasn't made by Mierin and Beidomon; they simply found an old seal and opened it up. The same will happen again. No man can match the work of the Creator; and thus will the Bore be opened and sealed again and again and again, and again...

Lews Therin did it without the women...
The Women will be with Rand...so everything will be alright...because women rule the world...

It might be that the term {To Live You Must Die} is that Lews Therin has to die so that Rand can live...L. T. has never been dead in the true sense...he has been in limbo for 3000 years...he has waited for Rand all those years...now he can truly rest and Rand can take his three women and go have a good time making dozens of children...

At the end of the Gathering Storm...Lews Theran left Rand's head...
LT is gone and forgotten...
Moridin is in Rand's head...that is the one that will have to die so that Rand can live...
