In{ Crossroads of Twilight} It was Perrin getting rid of the *Axe and taking up the Hammer...*I believe that it is permanant.

I also believe that Mat will lose his eye in book *11*

I was wrong it was Rand losing his hand in Book 11!

I think Mat will give up his eye in Book 13!!!!

There is some sort of recording devise in Mat's left eye and he will willingly give up his eye to be rid of it...
