I haven't been such a fan of the younglings, being the crazy Siuan fan i am i didnt like how they halted her rescue.
i wouldn't mind the sea folk if they werent so annoying and arrogant. good god! they think their above everyone and deserve everything to the point where they want five square miles of every city! they have never owned that land and it just seemed silly to give it to them rather than seek a better deal.
Wow i guess shikoba and i have REALLY differnt tastes in characters. oh well, it makes it interesting ;D

Yeah, it'd be pretty boring if we just sat around and agreed with each other.
Siuan's okay, but she just seems kind of gushy to me. The Younglings are awesome because they're tragic, you know? They're just a bunch of kids who made this wrong decision and now they're trapped in it --and they have a type of guerilla warfare I think is cool. They're going to be pretty important in the end, I suspect --but then, most characters are.
The Sea Folk rock! They take the most they can get, and if the people they're negotiating with are dumb enough to give it to them, so be it. And I just really love the way they dress and stuff...all the tattoos and piercings: feels right at home.

I just hate how they treated in Winter's Heart, even if it was perfectly understandible from their point of view. (I guess I will hate just anyone who treats her badly.)

hehehe They were just having a bit of fun with Nynaeve: that sort of thing happens to me all the time. It makes her even stronger really. She'll get back at them at some point.

I don't understand you. You say you hate all the good guys. What about the baddies?
My hate is reserved for them (although I save some of it for Elaida. But that's evolving into pity these days...). Alviarin. Sevanna. The DF Seanchan High Blood. I could go on forever. Weak people who sacrifice their friends, their families, the world, and everything they presumably believed in, just for their own greed and selfishness. That is what I call a real basis for hate.

I love a lot of the evil characters: Moghedian, Padan Fain, etc.
It's like, if you ask someone their favorite batman character, chances are they'll tell you Riddler, Catwoman, maybe Robin...because they have drive. Except Robin, he just says cool cheesy phrases like, "Holy Toledo!"
But the point is, you expect more from the good guys. So when Elayne's walking around acting like an idiot, you just want to smack her.
And I'm still deciding whether Rand is bad or good. I'd like him better as a villain, I think.

Very good answer. But the baddies was also once goodies. All the Forsaken, Padan Fain, ... The Forsaken were mostly famous and admired people (excepting Moggy, ofc. She was a insurance saleswoman or something ;D), who decided to act really foolish. So smacking them a bit would be the thing to do for me, I guess...

I think it might be the Angst that Rand has to display in the books that make people misunderstand him...He is the suffering savior of mankind....that is not an easy burden to carry...
The Angst was so heavy in PoD...it made the Rand PoV's very hard for me....very dark and unfriendly...I always go back after I listen the Seanchan battles in PoD...and listen to the part of {TGH } where Rand is lost in the Portal Stone world and he is having to find a way out with Selene, Herin and Loial...that is the Rand I have set in my mind....

I don't know, I like most of the Characters. The only one I don't really like is Rand.

I like Rand okay. It took me a while to get used to him, that's all. I see him more as a bad boy, though --not the Mat Cauthon type of bad boy, Rand's more of a good guy who's too stupid to make the right decisions. And that's how it should be, 'cuz if he was smart, the Aes Sedai and the Aiel and the Forsaken, etc, wouldn't be free to control him.
I think angst is somehere between agony and distress...such a happy word.
