In contradiction to the 'Favourite book in the WoT series'-thread, this is the place to mention or even talk about the worst book of "The Wheel of Time". Being Creator of this thread, I will start. The worst book in the WoT series is definately "Crossroads of Twilight". Light! Half the book is about the ending of "Winter's Heart". The next half does *not* contain *any* action, nor spectacular events. Not any? *Spoilers for CoT*Well, to be honest, there was one thing I liked. It was Mat, telling Harnan to shoot Renna. Yay for Mat. *End of Spoilers for CoT*I was really disappointed by the end of the book. The book was over, but there was no real end, no satisfaction.

I agree with you, though I will say something about it myself, before anyone will verbally kill me. The book was not badly written, it just lacked any form of action. It was more like a very large prologue. We've seen this before (at least I did) in The Path of Daggers. I think Robert Jordan should have put more of the story in the book by: a) telling less of the story that he did tell us. He is a master at repeating himself. After he told us seven times Elayne and Aviendha love each other very much and like being sisters, I'm sure even everyone got it, but he decided telling us eight times... nine times... ten times... If he had not done so at every subject there is in the book, I'm sure it would have been half the size it is now. b) telling more of the story he now will tell us in book eleven. I think there will be a lot more action in that book (I do hope so!). If he had told us some of it in this book, we would have had two exciting books in stead of one. I really hated the fact that Nynaeve wasn't in the book, as well. When I heard, I cried for like an hour... Of course, anyone is free to discuss this subject, but if all you will do is tell us that there was a lot of action and that there was a lot of Nynaeve in the book (whether you put every sentence from the book with the word 'Nynaeve' in it online or not), like some did at the old forum, I will lock this thread up... You are free to discuss, but please respect everyone's opinion. We've all read the book.

LOL, Liandra can I remind you that I am also a moderator here;) Just kidding, but I was only responding to the fact that someone said there was little to no nynaeve in pod. And there is, only maybe not a pov, but i haven't checked that yet. So i kindof posted "evidence" And Nynaeve isn't in cot, as I call it ;D But I like it, although there is indeed not the kind of action you mean, wolf. And liandra, I like those repeats of Jordan, because in real live there are also some things you repeat everytime, at least I do. So it sounds only natural and not annoying to me:) But I won't get involved again in this discussion:) bye isabel

easy: A Crown of Swords. That book, i swear, i started yelling at it. "GET ON WITH IT!" Just like in Monty Python. That book was WAY too heavy in the "anticipation" department. Everyone's waiting for the storm to break. alright already! break, burn you!

*waves frantically to Frenzy in greeting.* Heya stranger! ^.^ Anyways...lol. Sorry Wolf, but I must disagree with you. I do have to admit though, I thought CoT was the worst book after I read it. I was very disappointed with it. But the only reason for that was because I was expecting the same for book 10 as I did for book 9. I was set straight by a very intelligent and intellectual Firseal (Frenzy knows whom I speak of). CoT was well-written, even though half of the book WAS spent on what happened up to the end of Winter's Heart with the rest of the characters. But what did you seriously expect, know what I mean? Anyways...I personally think that CoS was the worst book in the series. Just a personal opinion. Though, I did enjoy that one too. lol Kagrim

~waves back at Kage~
I don't know, sedk, i'm not convinced by that scene. ~struggles furiously to avoid spoilers~ i still get the impression that Perrin will do whatever it takes to resolve his current situation. Even if it's worse than what he's already done. Removing the item in question doesn't change that.

It is impossiable to say that there is a { worst book}....
RJ has said that all of WoT is one single book...
All you can say is that there are parts that are more interesting than others...
All the books have plus + and a Minus- factor...
I find more + in {tGH} {tFoH} {LoC} {WH} {tDR}
I find even + - in { tEotW } { tSR } {aCoS}
I find more - in {PoD} {CoT}

I also wasn't confinced by that scene. I reallly hadn't gotten the idea that perrin threw the axe really away for good. That he had chosen for the hammer. I thought that he could pick it up any moment.

i wasnt convinced either, if he really wanted to get rid of it for good, he could sell it. we know from book 1 it is excelently balanced and he could of fetched a pretty good price but curently he can just take it back

Worst book...
I found myself dissapointed with a couple of the books... but I think that had mostly to do with the fact that I just want to know what happens! I must know! I spend a lot of time formulating theories on what will and what will not happen... and usually I find, I am wrong.
I think I am most dissapointed with CoT... but that has to do with a lack of action... I have a feeling that I will feel better about it when 11 comes out.
It felt to me like CoT was only a continuation of Winter's Heart... and I think that 11 will give closure... hopefully to some of the loose ends that need to be taken care of...
;D See me busily dancing around spoilers? It's not very neatly done... I know.
